My team and I were asked to create a starter website for a client that wanted to make a website for recipes. The website needed to be able to work across all platforms such as homepage, tablet, and mobile. The website I decided to create was based around recipes for crockpots. I used a warm color palette in this piece to evoke the spirit of Fall. When designing the logo icon, I gained inspiration from the types of knobs that are found on a crockpot. I chose a timeless design and used typography aspects to highlight the crockpot theme by replacing the letter “O” with an icon. I added notebook paper, handwritten type, and hand drawn arrows to give the website a more personal and inviting presence.
